These are the test vids we did for iKidz.TV.  Kira is clearly ham enough to be funny even through (or with the helpof) my bad editing.  This is the channel window, so all 4 videos should be viewable.  The first one was our site into and she points out features.  Once we figure out what’s going on with the online venture, I’ll get iKidz or some variation back up.  Until then, enjoy the funny.

Cafe Bassam

Cafe Bassam is a very nice coffee and wine bar with a truly Euro feel. It made a great location for the first Meetup I attended, the SD Bloggers Meetup.

This Meetup consists of a group of active internet users of all types. I decided to participate as a way to meet more of the people in the San Diego Internet technology field and learn more about the latest trends in social networking. Social networking is not a new thing and this post is not meant to define it. But I do have an observation.

I find it to be quite an interesting contradiction how the activities that make our social interactions meaningful and interesting are those that remove us from the network. We can’t write a cool blog post about a meetup unless we leave the house and go to the thing.

“But, that makes perfect sense” you say. So, what’s the big deal? Well, the big deal is that applications like Twitter, text messaging, and the micro-blogging trend are freeing users to do those things that make life interesting while at the same time maintaining that connection to the social network. It is one step, if a small one, towards allowing like minded individuals to operate as a collective.

I simply find this fascinating. Won’t you join us?
