We were again exploring around LA to see if we could make the move and make it work.  I’m not sure why but I feel like LA is a place that we will be at some point in our life if only for a little while.  I always hear bad comments about LA, but that’s not what we find when we go there.

I am beginning to dabble in some areas of the entertainment business and feel like being around the other industry people in LA couldn’t hurt.  It’s a business about connections and although one can be just as creative in San Diego, I feel a little out of touch.

To make it work, Steph is talking with hospitals in LA to determine if an opportunity exists that really inspires her.   Since I would not be working, Steph would need to really have a career path she is excited about or we won’t make the move.

I think we battle with both a need to feel settled, and a need to seek out more.  Anyway the adventure of it all is fun.

The kids were in heaven, if overstimulated, with Steph’s parents in town.  On Friday I had to work so they decided to take a tour in one of the Seal Tour boats that goes both on land and in the harbor.  They loved it and got a view of San Diego that I have yet to see from the harbor.  I think it was quite windy, but the ride was worth it.

On the weekend we decided to take our first trip to Sea World.  We knew there were rides there and as we suspected the kids were too small to go on them.  I have to say I was sort of glad.  We did a couple of shows including Shamu of course.  I was impressed with both.  But we didn’t feel like the kids would sit through too many of these.  Most of the rest of the park was somewhat like being at the zoo, exhibits of animals, dolphins doing tricks, etc.  Kira’s favorite part was actually the Anheuser Busch Clydesdale horse that we got to pet.  I didn’t realize that the park was owned by AB.  We also sampled some beer as well, not a bad thing.  The kids enjoyed a very cool playground with nets and multiple levels.  Actually it was hard to keep track of them!  At the end we had some tired kids not wanting to leave.  Oh, and grandparents not wanting to go home.  All good.
