Credit to the slugger though. the ball wasn’t being thrown to him and he, therefore, wasn’t looking. Even more credit that he didn’t flip out when Mom ran onto the field.

He hasn’t exactly taken to baseball. He enjoys it, but gets bored on the field. Hell, who doesn’t?? He has not yet got the timing down to hit the ball and is scared of the pitching machine. At this point we’re just hoping he doesn’t start to dislike the sport. I think the big deal we made over the shiner helped boost his ego. We’ll see.
